First, you must be able to identify the distinguishing symptoms of a sinus infection. Properly identifying your ailment is the first step to treatment. Typically a sinus infection will cause difficulty breathing and a stuffed up nose. Since an infection is to blame, the person may also be running a fever. Pain around the sinus and well as headaches are also common indicators. Other symptoms can include pain in the jaw, fatigue or dizziness. One natural way to treat a sinus infection involves the use of either a neti pot or a bulb syringe. Simply fill the neti pot with lukewarm water. Add about half a teaspoon of salt to the water to create a saline solution. The saline solution is used to help irrigate the sinuses. To use the neti pot, simply tilt the head to one side and pour the saline solution into one nostril. The solution will drain out through the other nostril. Use half of the saline solution in one nostril and the rest in the other. Regular use of the neti pots can help keep the phlegm from building up in the nasal cavity. Another natural treatment for a sinus infection would include the use of steam. This is accomplished by simply using a bowl filled with boiling water and learning over it. It is also a good idea to put a towel over year head to keep the steam contained. As long as the water is steamy, you would just continue breathing it in.
